Election 2024: EC to Open Nominations on August 2, Filing Period to Close on September 13

The Electoral Commission (EC) will open nominations for Presidential and Parliamentary candidates from Friday, August 2, to Friday, September 13, 2024.
Presidential candidates must pay a fee of One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 100,000) upon submitting their nomination forms.
Female candidates and individuals with disabilities are required to pay Seventy-Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 75,000).
“Candidates vying for the position of President will be required to make a payment of One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH0 100,000.00) at the time of submitting their Nomination Forms. Payment shall be by Banker’s draft and addressed to the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission. Female Candidates and Persons with Disabilities are required to pay Seventy-Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH0 75,000).”
The EC has specified that completed Presidential Nomination Forms must be signed by the candidate and at least two registered voters from each District Assembly.
In a statement dated August 1, 2024, the EC announced that interested candidates can download the Nomination Forms from the Commission’s website (https://ec.gov.gh/forms/) starting Friday, August 2, 2024.
