Residents of Wa in the Upper West region threaten to ban politicians following recent murders.

Residents of Wa, the capital of Upper West Region, are threatening to ban politicians from campaigning in the area unless urgent action is taken to stop the recent spate of killings of innocent citizens.

The threat follows the discovery of another murder victim on Monday, July 15, 2024. The deceased, believed to be in his late thirties and working as a driver’s mate, was found murdered near a warehouse where he had been unloading goods from a truck.

Several residents interviewed by Channel One News expressed living in constant fear due to the ongoing killings and emphasized their reluctance to engage with any politicians until a solution is found to address the issue.

The latest killing marks the 14th victim of brutal murders believed to be perpetrated by a suspected syndicate operating in Wa since 2022.
