The National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate for the 2024 election, John Dramani Mahama, has urged Ghanaians to vote for change in the upcoming general election.
In a statement released on Wednesday, July 10th, Mr. Mahama emphasized that the time for change has arrived and encouraged citizens to “end the suffering of the nation.”
“I urge you, my fellow Ghanaians, to vote John Dramani Mahama and the NDC for CHANGE to signal the need for us, all, to build the Ghana we want together.
“Building Ghana together means voting MAHAMA—your experienced, visionary, truthful and humble servant—as the next President of Ghana,” he added. The former president underscored that supporting the NDC administration would contribute to resetting Ghana and repairing the struggling economy.
He promised that an “NDC government would create decent and well-paying jobs for the youth through the 24-hour economy initiative and establish a National Women’s Bank to provide financial assistance to one million women-owned businesses.”
Mr. Mahama also committed to investigating and prosecuting corrupt officials from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), eliminating the COVID and E-levies, abolishing ex-gratia payments, and reducing the size of government to a maximum of 60 ministers.
He assured Ghanaians that with their votes, he and his running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, would restore dignity, humility, vision, and experience to the presidency.
