NPP Scheduled to Conduct Manhyia South Parliamentary Primary on July 14

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has finalized plans to hold a parliamentary primary election in Manhyia South following the nomination of the constituency’s incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, as the party’s running mate for the 2024 general elections.

According to a statement issued by the NPP’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, nominations will commence on Monday, July 8, 2024, and close on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. The election is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

“An aspiring parliamentary candidate (APC) shall obtain nomination forms upon payment of a non-refundable application fee of GH₵3,000 in the form of a banker’s draft made out to the NPP national headquarters in Accra.”

“To complete the nomination process, an APC shall pay a non-refundable filing fee of GH₵35,000, also in the form of a banker’s draft payable to the NPP Headquarters in Accra,” he stated.

However, Mr. Kodua noted that women, youth, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will receive a 50% rebate on the filing fees.

“This means they will be required to pay a non-refundable filing fee of GH₵17,500. To provide clarity, we define youth as individuals between the ages of 18 and 40,” he added.The NPP General Secretary further emphasized that every individual would have access to purchase nomination forms without any restrictions.
