Sammi Awuku, a key advisor to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team, has expressed confidence that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will surpass the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) with a strategic approach that will surprise them in the December polls.
Awuku underscored the party’s determination to secure victory in the upcoming December 7 election, affirming their full commitment to defeating the NDC.
He also extended congratulations and a warm welcome to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, as the NPP’s running mate for the 2024 general elections. This endorsement follows NAPO’s unanimous approval by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the NPP, based on Dr. Bawumia’s recommendation.
In an interview on Eyewitness News with Selorm Adonoo, Awuku expressed the campaign team’s readiness to integrate NAPO’s expertise and contributions into their strategy to ensure a decisive victory for the NPP.
“In the coming days, we will launch an extensive and insightful campaign. NAPO will play a significant role in securing victory for the NPP in December,” he affirmed.
Awuku also disclosed the NPP’s immediate plans to introduce NAPO to the Asanteman Council and Otumfuo Osei Tutu in Kumasi on Tuesday, July 8, 2024. Following this event, an official introduction will take place at Jubilee Park in Kumasi.
“Next week, on Tuesday, July 8, 2024, the NPP has two important events scheduled. As Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh hails from the Ashanti Region, we will present him to the Asanteman Council and Otumfuo Osei Tutu in Kumasi in the afternoon. Subsequently, we will formally introduce him at Jubilee Park in Kumasi.
“Following these events, Dr. Bawumia will embark on a campaign trail up north, engaging with constituencies, while his running mate begins a nationwide tour. The NPP is entering a busy phase, committed to winning the December election. Our strategy will outpace the NDC, and they won’t see it coming,” he emphasized.
