CLOGSAG announces nationwide strike.

Written by on July 2, 2024

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has announced a nationwide strike starting on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

The association expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s delay in implementing the proposed new salary structure approved by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, despite a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) being agreed upon one and a half years ago.

Speaking to the media, Isaac Bampoe Addo, the Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG, stated that all members are expected to adhere to the directive until the government fulfills their demands.

“We are declaring a nationwide strike effective Wednesday, July 3, 2024, as a clear indication of our intent to proceed if the new salary structure for civil service and local government service staff is not implemented,” he declared.

All civil service and local government service staff are instructed to refrain from reporting to work until further notice. Additionally, all CLOGSAG secretarial offices must remain closed. Please take note and comply accordingly.
