Shops in Accra to remain closed as the 2024 Homowo clean-up exercise begins on July 2nd.

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has announced that the ‘Homowo clean-up exercise’ will commence at Sempe, Gbese, Abloa, Asere, and Dogo Beach in Ga Mashie on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 6:00 am to 12:00 noon.
According to the Assembly, shops and businesses must remain closed on the designated clean-up dates, except for pharmaceutical and health facilities, to ensure the safety and efficiency of the clean-up activities and facilitate the full participation of all stakeholders.
In a press release signed by the Head of Public Affairs, the AMA explained that the clean-up activities are organized into six (6) zones covering the entire region, with Zone 1 including areas within the AMA and three sister Assemblies.
