Joyce Bawah Mogtari, spokesperson for National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, has strongly reiterated that her boss is incorruptible.
This affirmation comes in response to a recent publication by The Daily Dispatch, owned by Ben Ephson, alleging that certain appointees in Mahama’s previous administration spent over $8 million on luxury properties in Dubai.
In a statement released on Tuesday, June 25, Bawah Mogtari criticized Ben Ephson for attempting to tarnish the reputation of former President Mahama.
She accused Mr. Ephson of selectively ignoring the widespread corruption allegations within the current Akufo-Addo administration, suggesting he was diverting attention from the urgent issue of state capture.
Bawah Mogtari condemned the story as a coordinated effort to distract the public and smear Mahama’s reputation.
“The recent syndicated story by the NPP, using Mahama’s name deviously, is yet another attempt to divert attention from the alarming state capture unfolding under this administration.
“The rampant looting of state lands and properties has reached unprecedented levels and has been widely discussed recently. This syndicated story is merely another tactic to divert public attention.”
Joyce Bawah Mogtari asserted that the false accusations propagated by Ben Ephson and the New Patriotic Party cannot tarnish the reputation of John Dramani Mahama, who has consistently been vindicated from their ongoing smear campaigns.
“No amount of baseless associations from Ben Ephson and his NPP allies can change the fact that Mahama has been vindicated from their smear campaigns.”
The spokesperson for Mr. Mahama reaffirmed that the former President is determined to reclaim the presidency and implement a comprehensive plan to revitalize Ghana’s economy.
Furthermore, she pledged that Mahama would prioritize accountability and transparency by investigating and prosecuting corrupt officials within the current NPP administration, who have faced accusations of wrongdoing and mismanagement.
“Rest assured, Mr. Mahama will reclaim the presidency to rejuvenate Ghana’s economy and ensure accountability for corrupt NPP officials.”
