NLC Orders CETAG to End Strike

The National Labour Commission has directed the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) to immediately end its strike.
This directive follows a hearing on Thursday where the commission informed CETAG of its decision to pursue legal action against the government to enforce arbitral award orders for CETAG.
CETAG initiated the strike on Friday, June 14, 2024, citing the government’s delay in implementing the arbitral award and negotiated service conditions.
The arbitral award mandates the payment of one month’s salary to each member for additional duties performed in 2022. The NLC is scheduled to file its case in court on June 26 to enforce this ruling.
CETAG however is yet to decide on the order to end the strike
