“In equipping the service personnel attending this training, key modules over the four days will cover topics such as the origins of electoral violence, methods for identifying triggers of electoral violence, tactical approaches to managing electoral violence, and more. This training aims to enhance their community-oriented policing strategies,” he explained.

Northern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Duut Tuaruka, speaking to the media before the course commenced, emphasized the timely significance of the training: “This course couldn’t have come at a more opportune moment than now. It will significantly enhance participants’ knowledge and readiness for the upcoming national duties.”

In the Northern Region, more than 100 personnel are currently enrolled in the ‘Election Violence and Security’ training course. This initiative also aims to formulate innovative strategies ahead of Ghana’s December elections and familiarize newly deployed personnel with regional electoral dynamics.
