Vice President of Ghana and New Patriotic Party Flag bearer for the 2024 Ghana Elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has praised the Ghana National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars for their efforts.
He did so when he visited the team ahead of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic (CAR) at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi tonight at 19:00 GMT.

After being praised by Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku for supporting the Black Stars logistically on their trip from Mali, Dr. Bawumia reciprocated the gesture, stating:
“We were so happy when you won-in Mali-. Let me say that I have the highest respect for what you do as footballers and what you do for this country, the skill level for you, the dedication, the commitment that is required for you to get to this team…so when you get all the way to the Black Stars level, it takes something special and you are special.”
Ahead of the CAR matchup, Ghana has won two wins and a loss in three 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
